Many of you know I’ve been working on my directorial debut: DAY OF A STRANGER. This short film is about the world-renowned Trappist monk, Thomas Merton. Best known for his autobiography, The Seven Storey Mountain, Merton is said to be one of the most influential religious writers of the twentieth century.
From 1965 until his death in 1968, Merton lived in this small hermitage on the Gethsemani Abbey property in the woods of central Kentucky. The film will focus on this specific time period and the important work that emerged from this tiny cabin in the woods by piecing together some never before heard audio alongside footage from his hermitage.
You can find out more about the film and support the completion of this project at dayofastranger.com
Our anticipated release date is Fall of 2019.

Way to go, Cassidy. Sounds fascinating. Come back and see us at St. Thomas next time you are in St. Pete.
Excited for this project. Been reading Merton and visiting the abbey for nearly 50 years. Merton continues to be relevant to our society and the world.
I can’t wait…
